Dental Crowns & Bridges, Hamilton Dentist

What are Crowns & Bridges?

Dental crowns and bridges are both restorative dental treatments that can help to return the normal appearance and function of your smile if you have damaged or missing teeth.

These restorations can fill the space left by my missing tooth to maintain your facial shape and prevent collapse, as well as return your chance to speak and eat properly.

Dental crowns can also be used to strengthen a damaged tooth that is not suitable for a filling, preserving the structures of your mouth to avoid having to remove the tooth.

By repairing structural problems such as damaged or missing teeth using a dental crown or bridge, our dentists can change your smile's appearance – and preserve your oral health.

Dental Crowns in Hamilton

Dental crowns are hollow, artificial teeth that are placed over the entire tooth when it has been damaged or been affected by decay. This restoration returns the treated tooth to its former shape, size a colour.

Dental crowns can also help to strengthen and change the appearance of a broken tooth that may otherwise be lost or need extraction.

Crowns are strong and can be made from a variety of materials, including porcelain and metal. They look and function like natural teeth, and if cared for properly, can last 10 years or more.

Dental Bridges in Hamilton

Dental bridges are natural-looking dental restorations that 'bridge' the gap left in your smile by missing teeth. Bridges are made up of one or more artificial teeth and are affixed to the teeth on either side of the gap left by your missing teeth to fill the space.

Dental bridges help to prevent your other teeth from shifting their position to fill the space left by missing or extracted teeth. Tooth movement in this way can cause several serious dental health issues, including deterioration of the jawbone and gum disease.
